Hi everybody!
I got the new invitation for blogging today, so I thought I'd leave short message straight away. I'm in the middle of getting my colleagues involved in ICT. I haven't had the opportunity to try out anything since all my students are on holiday, but we're making plans for a site with Hot Potatoes exercises. I just hope we'll have the material ready before the new school year. I'll leave link for everybody when it's ready.

We do agree that ICT is challenging for students because it offers a lot of options for them to show their creativity, using this popular technology device. It can easily make them start using some other interesting activities on the comp besides playing games...

ICT is definitely extremely useful both for teachers and students.
Its advantages might be:
-novel approach to learning/teaching
-non-threatening
-intriguing, provokative

I think that learning foreign languages is more effective with ICT because it
- is interactive
- provides instant feedback
- encourages learner autonomy
- introduces a fresh approach to learning
- interesting and motivating for students
I can't wait to try all these activities in classroom.

It is definitely more motivating and effective for learners and it will surely play an important part in the learning proces in the future but will not replace textbooks.

All ICT activities are interesting and enjoyable. They make learning more effective and increase motivation as they are usually task-based. They offer possibilities for indvidual learning and development.

1. We agree that the ICT activities are are motivating for learners.

2.We agree that language learning is more effective with ICT activities.

3.Computers will hopefully replace books in the classrooms of 21st century. We belive this is so because computers are much more flexible than printed materials. They can communicate with one anoter and provide more learniing opportunities.

I absolutely agree with the statement that ICT activities are motivating for learners.They somehow find it too difficult to leaf the pages in their textbooks, but they have no problem with clicking the mouse!

In my opinion these kind of activities are very interesting and useful for children. We can motivate them and push them to do their best. I am sure they will enjoy doing these activities.

I'll just copy Warschauer's list of the reasons computers can have a positive influence on motivation:
“(a) the novelty of working with a new medium (Fox, 1988),
(b) the individualized nature of computer-assisted instruction (Relan, 1992),
(c) the opportunities for learner control (Hicken, et al., 1992; Kinzie, et al.,
1988; Pollock and Sullivan, 1990; Williams, 1993), and
(d) the opportunities for rapid, frequent non-judgmental feedback (Armour-Thomas,
et al., 1987; Waldrop, 1984; Wu, 1992).” (all cited in Warschauer 1996)

Considering the advancement of modern technology which influences the interests of our studenents, I think they will find it extremely useful and attractive.

We agree with the first two comments, but the third one doesn't seem probable (like what some people said about e-books, which were supposed to replace the real ones).
The activities are extremely motivating, however they demand time and patience.
